AGSA strengthens global audit partnerships through Intosai collaboration

On 7 February 2026, Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke hosted a delegation from the Supreme Audit Institution of Saudi Arabia, led by Dr Hussam Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit (GCA), to deepen cooperation as members of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (Intosai). The engagement reflects the close collaboration between their respective leadership roles within Intosai, with AG Maluleke leading Strategic Goal 2 on capacity building, while Dr Alangari leads Strategic Goal 4 on organisational matters and donor cooperation.

In her capacity as Chairperson of the Intosai Capacity Building Committee (CBC), AG Maluleke also met with Dr Alangari, who serves as Chairperson of the Intosai Policy, Finance and Administration Committee, together with Mr Anthony Pugliese, President and CEO of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

The discussion focused on strengthening partnerships that recognise the critical value of internal audit within the public sector. The leaders emphasised the importance of supreme audit institutions leading by example through strong and ethical internal audit functions and explored future collaboration between Intosai’s CBC and the IIA to advance improved public-sector governance globally.
