Partnerships and collaborations

We put a lot of energy into partnerships that cement the future and help shift public institutions as those characterised by performance, integrity, transparency and accountability. In this way we continue to build and expand our accountability ecosystem.

We partner with key stakeholders to improve public sector culture, strengthen governance, improve financial management and enhance service delivery.

Each year, we conduct mandatory regularity audits of all legislatures, all national and provincial government departments, certain public entities, all municipalities and all municipal entities (our clients or auditees).

Through audits, we promote performance-driven governance and transparency. We act in the public interest and select areas of audit that have a direct impact on the lived reality of our people.

Continuous learning and innovation are essential in the auditing field. That’s why we partner with universities, professional bodies, and business associations to advance expertise and best practices.

Civil society plays a crucial role in public sector accountability and advocating for ethical governance.

The AGSA engages with, and manages the relationship with both constitutional and non-constitutional stakeholders.  The AGSA ensures strategic alignment with the constitutional and non-constitutional stakeholders and partners who are able to influence the culture shift and behaviour changes that are required to improve audit outcomes and the more efficient use of public resources.

There is ongoing and regular application of stakeholder management tools, monitoring, evaluation and reviews of relations.

At the core of our work is a commitment to strengthening the accountability ecosystem. The success of government rests on the ability of the entire accountability ecosystem to work together – for all roleplayers to not operate within their silos, but to function collaboratively with an awareness of how their respective roles influence and complement each other.

If any part of the ecosystem fails to effectively play its unique role, this reduces the effectiveness of the ecosystem as a whole.

The AGSA is leading a culture shift that establishes governance excellence as standard practice to manage public resources for the benefit of all South Africans.

Strategic partnerships promote a culture of ethical leadership and a public sector environment where integrity, transparency and service delivery drive sustainable progress for South Africa
